2016: Family & Photography
2016 was packed full of love and I was invited along to capture it all! Family has always been at the heart of what I do, it’s the reason I love my job so much and last year it shone through more than ever. I met some lovely new families, caught up with some familiar faces and we even started a little family of our own with the arrival of Hetty!
Juggling Hetty and my photography meant it was definitely a year of multi-tasking…..I learnt to edit with Hetty strapped to me in a baby carrier, I fed her in between speeches at a wedding and travelled to Italy with her at 3 months old to photograph a family wedding!
2016 was full of love, chaos and fun…..and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Thanks for a great year!

Behind the scenes…..
I discovered a new way of editing
Exploring the streets of Malcesine, Italy
Chilling by the pool in Ibiza while mummy’s working!
Thanks to Jack and to our families for your help and support, love you all loads xxx
Hetty’s Italian Adventure
What a beautiful place….we’ve just returned from a wonderful trip to Italy for my cousin’s gorgeous wedding (which I was lucky enough to photograph!) and our first family holiday with Hetty! Even in the rain Malcesine had so much character and rustic charm, we spent our days wandering the quaint streets with ice-creams in hand exploring all the nooks and crannys….
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!!!
Hope you all had a lovely festive break with your family and friends!
2015 was a busy year for me photography-wise and personally, I managed to squeeze in getting engaged, marrying my boy and becoming pregnant!!! Really excited to see what 2016 holds, with baby McKinlay due in March and two destination weddings to shoot in Italy and Ibiza… it’s going to be a busy year!
Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the lovely families and couples I’ve met this year, I really appreciate you supporting my little business. It’s been such a pleasure photographing you all….
lots of love

Harpenden Maternity Shoot
When Nicki got in touch to book an outdoor Maternity Shoot near her home in Harpenden we looked for a location with a big open space where little Tilly could run around and have fun. We decided on Nomansland Common, between Wheathampstead and Sandridge, and arrived on a sunny morning to find lots of pretty yellow flowers which matched their outfits perfectly!! Tilly spent the morning running through the grass, playing peek-a-boo and picking flowers for her mum!…..a lovely way to capture some relaxed, natural shots of her with her mum before a new little brother or sister arrives.
Southwold Summer Photoshoots
In August I will be heading to Southwold in Suffolk for our annual summer holiday…..
Last year I had the pleasure of photographing some lovely families while I was there and would love to do the same again this year!
I’ve spent my summer holidays in Southwold for the last 30 years and it’s one of my favourite places to photograph…the colourful beach huts, rustic harbour and pastel painted cottages make the perfect backdrop for a fun family photo shoot. We can go for a walk along the beach, skim stones, eat ice creams, play in the sandy dunes or head down to the harbour!…..
I’ll be there the first 2 weeks in August (2nd-14th) if you’re holidaying at the same time and would like to have some natural family photographs taken please get in touch for more details.

Chelsea Maternity Shoot with Jojo Maman Bébé
The sun was shining, the blossom was in full bloom….a perfect day for an outdoor maternity shoot in Chelsea! I’ve had the idea of doing a shoot in Chelsea for a while now and when a collaboration for a street style shoot with JoJo Maman Bébé came up it was the perfect location! Emily was the model for the day, we worked together previously in Beauty & Fashion PR and she now writes for her blog blogmebeautiful. It was great to meet up and work together again, I scouted locations while Emily selected some gorgeous outfits from the JoJo Maman Bébé Spring/Summer 2015 collection, we had a fun afternoon catching up and creating some gorgeous natural maternity images….
A Pretty Maternity Shoot in Richmond Park
I love finding new places to shoot so when Neringa suggested the Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park as the location for her maternity shoot I was excited to go and explore! It’s so beautiful there, as soon as we walked through the gates we were surrounded by gorgeous flowers in purples and pinks…..the perfect backdrop for a maternity shoot! We spent a lovely sunny morning walking through the flower lined paths and taking some lovely natural shots along the way.
Looking forward to seeing Neringa and Ronald again soon for their next shoot with the new arrival!

Maternity Shoot in London Chelsea
This week I photographed a collaboration maternity shoot in London Chelsea with JoJo Maman Bébé and lovely Emily from www.blog-me-beautiful.com. The images are under wraps for now but I can share with you a few shots of Emily in her ‘model’s own’ outfit taken at the end of the shoot. We found a quiet little mews just off the King’s Road, it was lined with gorgeous white town houses and a white brick wall which made the perfect backdrop. Emily looks so amazing pregnant, love her maternity style!….. it’s not surprising that passers-by kept stopping to say how gorgeous she looked!
